Our excavators are suited to digging sand, gravel and quarry materials in situations where safe working remote from rock faces is necessary or deep excavation, in and around water is required. Plant can be hired on an hourly rate or on price work. The Caterpillar machines are the most productive in their class and ideally suited to quarry applications.
De-silting of lagoons can also be effectively carried out as part of the quarry maintenance needs. Archaeological excavation using a long reach excavator has recently proven a very effective method for studying the material removed.

Residues from sand and gravel extraction at the quarry leads to a periodic silt removal process. The settlement lagoons allow for unwanted material to collect and require dredging maintenance for which WM Plant Hire is employed on a 6 monthly basis. 
Removal of sand using cutter suction dredgers left isolated areas of a quarry with material to be excavated prior to landscaping. 
The maintenance dredging contract from the settling lagoons forms a crucial role in the limestone production process at Buxton Quarry, Derbyshire. The material is dredged from a series of large lagoons and transported to an adjacent area for drying out.
