Our long reach excavators are ideally suited to deep excavations including cofferdams, access shafts, cut and cover tunnelling, deep drainage trenches and installation/removal of underground storage tanks.
On remediation contracts, underground obstructions such as gas storage tanks, steel or brickwork chambers can be removed at safe working distances. Deep in situ excavation of contaminated material can be carried out for soil mixing and treatment.

As part of an upgrade at a sewage treatment works in Walsall Wood a long reach was required for some underwater deep excavation works in a shaft requiring a breaker. 
The massive Wood Wharf development in Canary Wharf will maximise the space available in the heart of London by reclaiming water filled docks. WM Plant Hire were involved in this second phase of works with further cofferdam construction and infill works having already been involved in the first phase at Bank Street.

Crossrail is Europe's largest infrastructure project. Stretching across London from East to West, the new railway will cover over 100km of track including 21km of new twin-bore rail tunnels and 10 new stations. 
At up to 80m below ground the Lee Tunnel is the deepest ever bored in London and forms a critical part of the Thames Tideway Tunnel in the cleaning and treatment of sewage storm water before it reaches Beckton Sewage Treatment Works.
The upgrading of the A500 trunk road included the diversion of the watercourses under two roundabout interchanges. Site restrictions demanded the use of specialist long reach equipment for elements of the construction. 
A large scale ground reclamation contract on the site of this former gas storage facility involved removal of a massive underground gas storage tank and superstructure.
