As part of the shore landing of the London Array Wind Farm power cables, the cables had to be buried in the tidal zone across the mud flats. The 22m long reach excavator was mounted on a floating pontoon and beached at low tide. During the low tides the cable was buried to a depth of 1.2m and backfilled using the long reach.
