July 2015

Infrastructure upgrades and maintenance operations to MOD marine bases in Scotland saw the deployment of the CAT 365 long reach fitted with a pole grab to work at depths of around 25 metres. A clamshell grab was used for the dredging and a rock grab used for backfill and scour protection with depth controlled using a computer system. The remoteness of the locations led to various weather challenges along the way together with the placement of a long underwater service duct, but all works were successfully completed.
