April 2022

Agricultural drains often run alongside Environment Agency watercourses or drains and overtime through cracks in the ground and creatures burrowing water can begin to leach between the channels. Aiming to ensure that the health of their watercourses are maintained a 450m stretch of the piling is being carried out by the Environment Agency this month along the Cranbrook, Cambridgeshire to create a barrier to prevent the water mixing.

Working with Environment Agency contractors Breheny, WM Plant Hire have supplied multiple 22m long reach machines, including a CAT 340 and Komatsu 360 fitted with EMV and push plate to assist with the installation of the 4m sheet piles. These machines provided both the power and reach required to carry out operations efficiently.
