February 2024

As part of Weston-Super-Mare’s Marine Lake enhancement project, working from a pontoon one of our smaller 9m long reach has been supporting marine contractors with important dredging work on the tidal lake this month. Hopper barges were loaded with silt which was then deposited the other side of the sea wall by a further machine. The dredging works have eliminated accumulated silt and will help maintain water quality for what is a popular swimming destination, used for training events as well as by visitors to the popular tourist town, to wild swim more safely.
