Working alongside Environment Agency Contractors, WM Plant Hire's CASE 245 zero tail long reach excavator played a crucial role in the £2.5 billion Kempsey Pumping Station infrastructure upgrade project this month. With a 15.5m outreach, the machine overcame tight access constraints, enabling the construction of a platform to safely clear debris from the screen; as well as facilitating cofferdam excavation to the required depth. This work was instrumental in mitigating future flooding risks to 150 properties in Kempsey; and the project's success highlights both the versatility and value of the zero tail long reach excavator as a solution for complex infrastructure projects.
